ACTIVITIES AND OUTCOMES

~1~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Capacity building for community volunteers on birth registration, child protection and Psychosocial support in Potiskum, Yobe state (HI/GESDI/FHI360/USAID Project 03-26th -2014; in collaboration with National population commission, Yobe state)

 

~~OUTPUT/OUTCOME: 1500 children enrolled in the OVC project were registered (issued birth certificate) and given protection; 20 community volunteers had their capacity built in child protection; PSS was provided to 2000 VC.

 

~2~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Capacity building workshop for Yobe Community Based Organizations’ M&E/program officers on OVC programming, data collection and management (HI/GESDI/NELAH/USAID project; 3rd – 4th July 2013).

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: 15 members drawn from 3 community based organizations (Green environmental support and sanitation GESDI; Female role model initiatives FROMI; Network for integrated rural advancement [NIRA] community development forum NCDF) had their capacity built on OVC programming, data collection and management.

 

~3~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Interventions for Orphans and vulnerable children in 9 local governments in Yobe state: (HI/GESDI/FHI360/USAID project 2013-2014).

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME:

*Community mobilization and sensitization on OVC programming.

*Provision of Psychosocial support, child protection, birth registration for 2000 vulnerable children and 400 households.

*Constitution of OVC carers forum.

*Sensitization on Food security and food bank.

*Capacity building for community volunteers on data collection and M&E tools.

*Capacity building for community volunteers on Child protection, birth registration and psychosocial support.

~4~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Human rights monitoring and reporting in Yobe state, North eastern Nigeria (National Human rights commission/UNDP 2014-2015).

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Monitoring, documentation and reporting of human right violation by state and non-state actors.

~5~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: IDP monitoring, documentation and reporting in Yobe state, North eastern Nigeria (National Human rights commission, NHRC/UNHCR, United Nations high commissioner for refugees 2015).

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Monitoring, documentation and reporting of IDP status in Yobe state

 

~6~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Assessment of IDPs in Adamawa and Yobe state (United Nations high commissioner for human rights, UNHCHR project April 2015).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Informing decisions and initiatives of the United Nations high commissioner for human rights on possible areas of intervention.

 

~7~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Assessment and Intervention for IDPs in Adamawa and Yobe state (Human rights agenda network, HRAN May/June 2015).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Informing decisions and initiatives of the Federal republic of Nigeria through the Human rights agenda network, HRAN on the humanitarian imperatives in north-eastern Nigeria

 

~8~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Community mobilization and sensitization on community food bank formation in Potiskum LGA, Yobe state.

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: *Attitudinal change to plight of vulnerable children and their household, birth registration and children’s education.

*Formation of carers’ forum in communities to handle food bank and other OVC related issues.

~9~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Community sensitization on early warning monitoring, reporting and response in Pompomari ward, Damaturu, Yobe state (24TH May 2016).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Community leaders and members become conflict sensitive, vigilant and proactive on security matters.

 

~10~PROJECT/ACTIVITY:  Support to Fofure IDP clinic and camp,Yola, Adamawa state, North-eastern Nigeria (HI NEHCON Project 4th January 2015).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOMEImproved access to healthcare and availability of drugs in the clinic; improved access to non-food items.

 

~11~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Town hall meeting: Open forum with victims of insurgency in Yobe state (Hope interactive/Nigerian coalition for the international criminal court NCICC, 28th November 2015).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Needs assesment and identification of prioritized need of IDPS in Yobe state.

 

~12~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Medical support to Pompomari IDP clinic, Damaturu, Yobe state, North-eastern Nigeria (HI/Isaiah Balat foundation IBF: NEHCON Project 26th October 2016).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Improved access to healthcare and availability of drugs in the clinic.

~17~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Training on deradicalization, early warning and peace building in Buni-Yadi, Gujba LGA, Yobe state, North-eastern Nigeria (HI Project 23rd July 2017).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Capacity of 21 youths, religious leaders and community members is built in the area of CVE, early warning response and peace building. 

 

~18~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Community dialogue in Fune LGA (NERI/Hope interactive project, 31st July to 30th August 2017)

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: 500 community members in Fune LGA where engaged in FGDs, KIIs and rap sessions. Hope interactive learned and gained a better understanding of the Conflict and community dynamics in Fune L.G.A.

 

~19~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Building the capacity of youth to prevent and respond positively to violence: Peace by the people: Formation of YPP (August 2017-April 2018).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Emotional and social healing; Youth now have maturity, social poise and courage to confront conflict in their communities; Youths are productive members of the society; Unity among youth groups in conflict through dialogue, Youths having a sense of responsibility and communalism; youths make resolution to stay away from substance abuse & embrace responsible citizenship; Reconciliation and dialogue between girls in conflict with their parents; CSOs now have the capacity to analyze conflict and carry out effective advocacy; promote public safety, support community as first responders.

 

~20~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Reviving the culture of reading among students and pupils through provision of books (exercise and text), biros/pencils, chalk, class registers, shelve, first aid box in ECWA Becket Memorial College, Kukar Gadu, Fika LGA, Yobe state. (Hope interactive and CHIYOWO foundation 2017)

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOMEImproved access to Educational materials in schools and improvement in reading habit among students and pupils.

 

~21~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Formation of Youth Peace Platforms in Kasuwan Shanu and uguwar Kwari (NERI/HI Project January 2018-April 2018).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME

 

~22~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Commemoration of International Womens’ Day (IWD) by women for peace (HI/CR project, 8th March 2018).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Women are now becoming more conscious of there role in peacebuilding and are beginning to support girls in the light of protection and building self-worth 

 

~23~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Google digital skills for Africa workshop for 2000 youths in Yobe state (HI/Mind the gap project April 9-14th, 2018).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME Youths are developing their communities through creating digitalized innovative solutions and are building an online presence for themselves and also use online tools to showcase their products and services thereby increasing profitability.

 

 ~24~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Non-violent elections: Charting ways to curb electoral violence (Peace by the people project, Potiskum and Damaturu LGAs March to August  2018).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Party Chairmen, EXCOs and stakeholders are enlightened on the dangers of electoral violence, which led to resolve by appending a "never again" signature on a chart.

 

 ~25~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Establishing Women mediators across the commonwealth (women for peace platforms) in Damaturu, Geidam and Potiskum LGAs (HI/CR Project October 2018).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOMEWomen have the capacity to analyze conflict, engage in mediation, dialogue and play a key role in the peacebuilding process in their communities.

 

 ~26~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Peace Research Partnership: identifying peoples perceptions on reconciliation and reintegration in northeastern Nigeria (HI/CR Project January 2019).

 

~~ OUTPUT/OUTCOME: Partners have sufficient data/information to make an informed decision and to design activities

 

~27~PROJECT/ACTIVITY: Implementing community youth peacebuilding initiatives in Fune and Potiskum LGAs of Yobe state (HI/BC Project: MCN/YOBE2019/02 15th April 2019-14th March 2020).
